What is GRAPES?
GRAPES is a monetary strategy tool. Ministries need funds to operate, pay workers, and to make improvements. Camp Witness is not an exception to this. To facilitate these efforts, camp is launching the GRAPES program.
The acronym itself implies several things.
- Give implies that we rely on the support of others. Camp can not generate revenue through the sale of a product. To keep camp affordable to all, the fees are set below actual cost of operation. Camp Witness relies on the generous support of others.
- Regularly implies the cold reality that the need for funds is not a one time event. The ministry of camp has expenses that occur year round. These peak each summer. Regular gifts, will allow the camp to plan and purchase most effectively for each camp season as well as expand the camp season.
- Assist in Proclaiming implies the shared nature of the ministry. As you give, you become a vital part of the ministry. Individuals could not perform the ministry of camp without facilities such as Camp Witness. Camp Witness cannot perform the ministry God has called it to without the assistance of others financially.
- Eternal Solution implies our true focus and purpose. Camp Witness is here for the purpose of introducing people to the eternal solution, a relationship with Jesus Christ. Each year, approximately 5% of the 400+ individuals attending camp make a commitment to place their faith in the work of Christ on the cross. Likewise, many of the Christian young people who attend camp make life changing decisions while at camp. These can be to make a more committed stand for their faith, to forsake a particular sin, or to seek God's will for their life in their vocation, a future mate, or other important areas of their life. When you give to camp, you change lives.
