Meet the Coach

Shawn Kliewer just finished his first year as the Grace University Women’s basketball coach. With a love for basketball and teaching people the game, he plans on continuing coaching in the years to come.

Shawn was born and raised in Atkinson, NE where he still has family now. He and his wife, Anneliese, have been married for 3 years. They currently live in Ashland, NE. They are currently expecting their first baby at the end of June.

Shawn’s basketball background includes playing four years at Grace University (00-03), assistant coach for the Grace Men’s program in 2004 and one year playing professionally overseas in Germany.

Basketball is something that Shawn has always loved and he has studied the game as much as he has played it. With a particular detail for fundamentals, Shawn loves teaching the game and showing people how to most effectively play.

More importantly than basketball, Shawn has a passion for people, specifically those who do not know the Lord. In his job at Christ For the City International, Shawn helps people find their way onto the mission field to not only help others around the world, but to also allow God to stretch them as they become better people.

He is looking forward to passing on his knowledge of basketball as well as teaching how to win God’s way to the next generation.
